With roots dating back to 1878, Sun Enterprises Ltd is the tanker management company of the Group, while Alios Bulkers Ltd is the management company for the dry cargo fleet. The Group manages a modern fleet of 20 vessels, owns two more chartered bareboat, and has four new buildings on order.

Since 1948 the Group has placed 120 new building contracts with top quality shipyards around the globe. Every tanker in the Group has been completely negotiated, specified and constructed under the direct supervision of Sun Enterprises

First vessel, S/V Kaesar, acquired and commanded by George M. Livanos

1902

First steamship acquired, the S/S Theofano

1947

Acquired 11 of the 100 available Liberty Ships, taking the total fleet to 23 vessels

1948

Entered the tanker sector with the acquisition of T2 Type M/T Ioannis Zafirakis

1972

First shipowner ever to place an order at Hyundai Heavy Industries, for two VLCCs, Hull Nos. 1 & 2

1993

Delivery of M/T Chios, the Group’s first double hulled VLCC

1994

M/T Chios rescues 117 passengers from the M/S Achille Lauro

1999

Delivery of M/T Amazon Guardian, a 40m beam post-panamax product carrier, uniquely designed for the Group by HHI

2008

Entire tanker fleet double-hulled

2014

100th New Building Delivered, the M/T Amazon Victory

2022

M/T Christina saves 27 refugees from a boat sinking in the Aegean Sea, Master wins the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards Captain of the Year award
